“A couple in my circle of friends recently got divorced. They are not close friends, but friends in general. I have liked Sharon for years and am going to ask her out. My best friend says I need to call her ex-husband and ask him for permission because I am breaking the ‘bro code’. I disagree and don’t think I have to ask anybody for permission. I’m a grown man and can do what I want. Is my best friend right? What if the ex says no? I know Sharon will want to go out with me. What are your thoughts?”

“We are a football family and are excited that the NFL is back. Our son played in his first varsity football game last weekend. I was disappointed in him because he trash-talked several of his opponents. My husband says there is nothing wrong with the trash talk because it’s part of the game. I think it’s low class and shows poor sportsmanship. What do you think? Should high schoolers be trash-talking? The NFL no longer allows it so why should high schools? Where is the line when it comes to trash talking?”
